A few weeks ago we asked for each of our followers to contribute $20 or more to sponsor our athlete Jeff Dykstra in the St. Croix Coral Reef Open Water Swim Race on St. Croix – with all proceeds committed to relief efforts on St. Croix – in what we called the Race to Recovery.

Dykstra placed fifth among St. Croix residents and 41st overall with a time of 2:58:02 in the 5-mile race. And he did it all to raise money for the island and to help support activities that keep the island thriving and pushing through.

Despite the devastation, power outages and hardships that come in the aftermath of a storm, especially after two Category 5 hurricanes, the islands of the Caribbean are still culturally and environmentally rich with much to offer. Races like this highlight that and we were happy to be part of this Race to Recovery campaign.

We were able to raise over $1,500 through this effort. Thank you to everyone who contributed! For those of you who didn’t, it’s not too late. We are still accepting post-race donations through the below link. All donations go directly to relief efforts on St. Croix – and through this website and our social media profiles, you can watch where your donations go!
